Mrs. Rice’s 8th grade history classes recently completed a unit of study on the United States Flag Code. Students analyzed the meaning of the words in the Pledge of Allegiance, discussed proper display and disposal of the American flag, proper etiquette during the playing of the Star-Spangled Banner, and how to properly fold the American flag.

A tribute to Mr. Allan Rohrer, the first principal at TJHS, circa 1965. Eileen Mateer and fellow 5th grader Amber Achenbach correctly answered the trivia question from yesterday's 5th grade class meeting. Congratulations and we honor Mr. Rohrer who served this community from 1965-1992. Thank you for a legacy of excellence!

TJHS Lunch Balance Information Update: Dear TJHS Community,
In an effort to minimize and mitigate the shock of oversized lunch account deficits we are sending Skyward reminders every Friday to the guardians of any student that has a negative balance of $10 or more. Until the balance is addressed, students will not be allowed to purchase extra a la carte items.
Thank you and we are addressing with each class this week so our students are aware of the policy shift. Please have the discussion at home as well. The shock of a $300 TJHS cafeteria bill will hopefully not occur due to the advanced notifications.
Thank you--Eric Bruder, principal

TJHS has planned to utilize air conditioned instructional spaces throughout this high temperature week as a result of storm damage to 5 of our HVAC units impacting 10 classrooms. The scheduled areas will also be utilized tonight for our Parents' "Back to School Night."
Thank you!
