First graders spent some time working on their design and engineering skills by creating a Christmas tree with popsicle sticks and playdough. They topped off their creations with small wooden stars. #STEMinfirst #learningbycreating Follow the link below for some more photos of the fun! https://photos.app.goo.gl/yMLVGrWcxgRk2mBF6

Second graders got a lesson on coding that involved no technology. They learned the most basic principle of computer coding is learning to follow a set of instructions. Then they practiced their skills by writing some simple "code" of their own and challenged their classmates and teachers to solve their codes. #unpluggedcoding

Kindergarten classes had the opportunity to build their own Mini Mayflower foil boats this week. Students worked as a team to design a boat that could hold the most "pilgrims" possible. Ms. Specha helped them to test their designs, while practicing their skip counting by 5's. Several teams designed boats that held 102 pilgrims, the same number as on the original Mayflower.
